6. Merida

We had less time in Mérida than expected, but we all found it very pleasant there. For the first evening, we wandered around town enjoying the feel of the place. We even stopped in one of the squares to enjoy the live music being played. We also found the most expensive drinks in Mexico!!!! Don’t make the mistake of turning up somewhere that looks posh and ordering blind. We had shots of Tequila for 120 pesos, that’s almost £5 😲

The next day we went on a Cenote tour. The were very gentrified as they had been set up as natural swimming pools, but still really good to see. Most people used the horse drawn railway, but as there was the option to cycle guess what I did! 🤣

Yes, I actually swam in a couple of them!! I can hear you faint 🤣
