Here is the latest update on the city. Its a bit dark as I was showing off the lighting kits that I have installed. I have also been playing around with recording my own background music… at some point I will be able to do it without a million mistakes but at least you canContinue reading “Lego City Update”

Back Home with a meh!
I have been home for about two weeks now and have made amazing progress with my blog…. ok, I havent got anywhere with it!! On the positive note, I have finally started sorting out my photos. Unfortunately there are over 10,000 of them for the 2.5 months of travel. At my current rate of sortingContinue reading “Back Home with a meh!”
10. Flores (17 Jan)
San Ignacio is very close to the border with Guatemala so we headed to Flores by private transfer (rather than flying). The border between Belize and Guatemala is currently under peaceful dispute. The dispute is based on an agreement between the UK and Guatemala exchanging money and a road for a large amount of whatContinue reading “10. Flores (17 Jan)”
9. San Ignacio and Caracol (15-17 Jan20)
Having left Caye Caulker later than intended, we ‘had’ to charter a private transfer from Belize City to San Ignacio rather than getting a local bus (shame!). This was a decision made unanimously by the group. The private transfer was faster and less faffy than the local bus option so we didn’t loose much timeContinue reading “9. San Ignacio and Caracol (15-17 Jan20)”
8. Caye Caulker (13-15Jan20)
Today we left Mexico and said goodbye to a number of our travelling companions. Some were heading home and some were heading to Cuba (yet another place on my list to visit!!). We had a long journey to the port (well water taxi rank) of Chetmal in Mexico where we got a ferry (well waterContinue reading “8. Caye Caulker (13-15Jan20)”
7. Playa del Carmen and Chichen Itza
Leaving Mérida we headed for the ancient site of Chichen Itza, one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the World’ (although I am not sure why). Answers on the back of a post card!! Lol. This is a pic with the full group I was travelling with (I haven’t actually sorted pics from here yetContinue reading “7. Playa del Carmen and Chichen Itza”
6. Merida
We had less time in Mérida than expected, but we all found it very pleasant there. For the first evening, we wandered around town enjoying the feel of the place. We even stopped in one of the squares to enjoy the live music being played. We also found the most expensive drinks in Mexico!!!! Don’tContinue reading “6. Merida”
5. Flight to Merida
In the morning we had a bit of time to have a final wander around Oaxaca before heading to the airport at 11am. Oaxaca airport was tiny and quite boring, but at least they had coffee! We flew with Interjet who I was fairly impressed with. I think that I actually had more leg roomContinue reading “5. Flight to Merida”
4. Oaxaca and Monte Alban
Today we left Puebla at 8am to go to Oaxaca (kinda pronounced Wa-ha-ka down to the way they use x’s) When we remembered to look, the mountainous country we passed through was stunning. We didn’t arrive in Oaxaca until mid afternoon. The city was even nicer than Puebla and we spent the rest of theContinue reading “4. Oaxaca and Monte Alban”
3. Teotihuacan and Puebla
Today we left Mexico City and headed north to the ancient Mayan city of Teotihuacan. It is believed to have at one point been the 6th most populous city in the world. It reminded me greatly of Deep Thought from hitchhikers guide The city was really cool to see (definitely a must). It was goodContinue reading “3. Teotihuacan and Puebla”
